From Lake Gogebic, we drove to Houghton and on into the Keweenaw Pennisula to the Fort Wilkins State Park. This was originally a military peace-keeping post at the northern point of the United States in 1844. After spending some time in Houghton, we stayed at the Van Riper State Park on Lake Michigamme on the way home.
